Goodbye To You My Trusted Friend

Just came back from duty and it feels like a long time ever since I last did my drills.. HeHE~! Had 2 calls for the appliance i was in yesterday.. Some alarm went off at Dunman Secondary School but there wasn't anything showing and another case where there were arsonists got a blaze burning in a rubbish bin and ran off.. Stupid calls though~! Wad more is that they ran off with motorbikes~! That means they are at least 18 years and above.. Still playing with fire at this age? Heard it was 2 malay guys who did it.. Gosh can't they just let us sleep in peace?

Anyway recently my Rota received word that 2 of our NSF SecComs are going to other Rotas.. Sadly, one of them is a very good friend and brother of mine.. He's my favourite SecCom and he too laboured me as his favourite fire-fighter(I think i'm still his favourite fireman though~! O_o~!).. We had alot of s**t and fun times whenever we are on duty together.. I'm gonna miss those times like doing hydrant testings, watching DVDs in the fire post and laugh our ass off, having meals together, talking cock and the last but not least.. Turning out with him when there is a firecall~!(Especially when we are in the LF~! XD~!) Its really quite hard to get by when u face this kind of situation in NS life.. Friends just come and go.. And maybe u might not be able to see them again.. That's when memories of NS life comes in..

Anyway life must go on and its not like i won't be able to see him again.. We are just in a different Rota but still in the same station.. Whatever happens my friend, just stay happy and strong always~! CiaOZ~!

My favourite SecCom.. A good friend and brother~! Stay happy always~!
I look kind of untidy coz i just finished drill..

I was pointing at another fire-fighter as he ran pass the camera when the camera man was about to press the button.. Haha~! And the pic ended up like this.. -_-|||...

New Guys Must Take The Blame

Its my first day off and had quite a long nap in the afternoon.. Just so happen to wake up at dinner time and so i went to eat my dinner(I'm going to be a pig sooner or later if I continue like this).. And so yesterday I was on duty and i'm assigned to Pasir Ris Fire Post.. I was with SGT Shafeeq as my SecCom, SSG Oh as our driver and PTE Andy was the other fire-fighter..

Basically, whenever i turnout with Shafeeq, its about 70-80% that there would be no firecalls for the day.. Plus an addition with with our driver, probably the percentage would be a little higher.. Andy is one of the new guys that came in to our Rota a few months ago.. Although he's new, I could say that he's quite good in his firemanship skills(Maybe better then me O_o~!).. So yesterday we were at the fire post for standby and we were doing our own stuffs like watching movies and other "illegal" things that we are not suppose to do during both office and non-office hours.. And we had like 3 fire calls altogether -_-~! The first one was around 2 plus in the afternoon.. Our intel said that a rubbish chute was showing smoke from inside.. We arrived there in less then 3-4 minutes and there was smoke from inside.. Opened the shutter and *PoOf*.. Quite alot of smoke but guess wad, there is no fire.. The smoke was from people who do fogging in rubbish chutes to kill pests that loiters in it... -_-~! Went straight to hydrant testing after that since we are already half don of our fire gear.. As usual hydrant testing is like getting cooked under the sun.. We get to see water coming out, but we can't really do anything like cooling our body down with it since we are wearing so much stuff.. So tempting~! *SiGh*.. Took us about an hour or so and we went back to the fire post for standby.. It was just less then 5 mins when we reached back the post when a firecall came again.. We were like "Oh s**t~!".. Get ourselves don with our fire gear and out we go with the LF.. This time it was some teenagers playing with fire but according to Andy, he saw people running away upon our arrival.. We found some burned stuff inside the dustbin which is lying on the floor and there was still smoke with its burning smell.. The most wierd thing is that there was a group of school girls sitting just next to the dustbin.. We asked them whether did they witnessed anyone playing with fire and didn't they smell anything burning..? They said no plus they didn't smell anything.. I admit that the smell wasn't that strong but couldn't they see the smoke that was coming out? The group of girls said that they were there 15 mins before we arrived at the scene.. So we were like, really didn't see anything or they just dun wanna admit it?

My driver suspected its that group of girls but the police came after that.. So we handed over to the police for investigation and went back to the post after that.. I was wet all over and even at my pants when i took out my fire gear as the weather was scorching hot during that afternoon.. Continued our normal routine of dinner and night lecture.. We did CAAD(Its a chemical agent drill where we just need to exercise while we are in our CA suit) after night lecture and while we doing doing it halfway, another firecall came along.. And all of us again shouting "OH S**T~!" as we are still in our CA suit.. We quickly don off our CA suit and put on the fire gear as fast as possible.. Intel said that there was a sound of explosion at some void deck around the corner.. Upon arrival we searched the area of the block that we were informed of the explosion.. Walked around and there was no sign of fire, smoke or people gathering around in any area.. Ask nearby youngsters around there and they said they didn't hear anything.. So it was a false alarm after all.. Damn all these stupid calls.. And we always thought that whenever myself, my SecCom and my driver turnout together, we won't have firecalls.. So we all pointed to our new guy Andy.. Its a trend in our station that we always blame the new guy whenever there was a few firecalls for that certain appliance with that guy in it.. Just like me when i went into station for the first day, I was assigned to the DO pumper and there was a HDB flat completely covered in flames.. I was that only new guy there in the Rota since the other one that came in with me was on MC.. I still rememeber that Huzaifah(one of the ORD-ed guys) was a good guidance who support me setting up the hydrant later when i needed to rush to get hoses after setting up the parts on the hydrant..

After everything was over, we packed up our equipments and were getting ready to leave.. And that's when some of my seniors said that this occured because of the new guy which is me.. I was like "Haha, I guess its a welcome to Tampines Fire Station for me~!"(Read the post on "Welcome to Tampines Fire Station" under the April archives for the full story of it).. I guess every new guy must always take the blame for this kind of situation.. CiaOz~!

Doing hydrant testing.. Andy look so SiAn~! Guess its because of the weather..

Doing CAAD with SGT Shafeeq.. Guess which is me~!

So Happening

In case everyone's wondering why i didn't update my blog for like 1 and a half months.. Well, its been a hectic time for me.. It was quite hectic that i didn't feel like updating my blog.. Lots of "happening" things are going on one by one and it sucks.. I will try to remember as much as i can.. The frustration feeling is always there for some reason..

Hmm, wad i can remember is about Ver and Chun's stories during my recruit time, the most firecalls of the day, BCLS test, my recent injuries i had from a bicycle accident and a stupid physical recall that just happen today.. Start off with Ver and Chun's stories first.. Its about during my recruit life when i wanted to chase Ver but everything went out of hand.. It was quite horrible because i felt that she was playing with me behind my back.. That was the story that i thought it was for 8 months, until one of the days in August when Ver, Cedric and myself went for dinner at Simei Eastpoint's Eigtheen Chefs.. There is a waitress working there where Cedric wanna make his move on(Courting her i mean).. Quite beautiful though XD.. That day Cedric asked Ver why didn't she choose me as her steady that time and went back with Louis instead.. I couldn't really remember wad she actually said because it happen so long ago and i wasn't really into it.. Only when she said that Chun and Jeremy went down to her dessert shop during December period, and were the ones that asked her not to go with me because i am a very "touchy" guy.. Very told me that she was an edge of choosing between me and Louis.. And that's one of the decision that i was crossed out.. My mind and heart opened up when i heard her saying that.. I went up in a flare and Ver was kind of surprised as she covered her mouth, assuming that she said the wrong things.. I was so mad that i even walked away when Cedric said some things that i wouldn't want to listen.. They caught up with me and managed to calmed me down.. I apologised to them after that..

When i got home, I temporarily blocked the contacts of Chun and Jeremy on MSN.. I didn't want to talk to them for awhile so i could cool down.. And somehow Chun managed to find out that i blocked the both of them.. I felt backstabbed by them at that time because i have gotten quite close to them during the months of May, June and July.. I have been helping them with their relationship abit here and there.. Like giving advices on maintaining their love(I've been there and done that before XD), helping Jeremy in training at the gym to prepare for his NS and helping Chun on planning and setting of Jeremy's birthday celebration.. That's why i felt cheated and used like a fool.. Cedric planned another meeting at Eighteen Chefs again but this time with Chun and Jeremy so i could hear their stories.. Alex came along too because he wanted to try out the food at Eighteen Chefs.. And he had no idea wad the hell was going when we were talking about my case.. Chun and Jeremy came but they were late for some reason.. First thing when the both of them sat down, Chun already gave a very black face to everyone.. And yeah, the answer is that she's angry with me.. Angry because i blocked them thinking that it was for no reason.. We asked them about that time in December and i wanted the truth from them... Chun said that it has nothing to do with Jerky and then she started explaning.. She told me that they were talking about going steady with who as they were in the gal's toilet... -_-~! This time, she said it was Ver who said that i am a very "touchy" person and that's why i was crossed out.. Chun said she was just following her words and just nod her head without thinking.. Adding on was also that Chun told me that Jeremy and herself did not meet her/go down to Ver's dessert shop.. And so now i've heard both stories, i planned to actually bring the both of them out so that we can clear this complicating case.. Unfortunately, Ver didn't have the time as she spends lots of time with Louis(I understand your case Ver).. And Chun asked me to dropped this case since its so long ago.. But well, my decision was to put it on hold.. Anyway, now that the both of them is not in talking terms because of me, its better to solve this then dropping it..

Next is about the numerous firecalls from Tampines Fire Station.. Firstly i wanna say that Tampines Fire Station is a, well, many people state it as a "boring" station.. But on that particular day when i'm assigned to the CPL(Combined Platform Ladder), there was like more then 10 firecalls~! It was the most firecalls in a day for me since i entered into the station.. In the day, evening and even in the middle of the night.. There was one call when the CPL is activated.. Its about 1.40am in the morning.. And guess wad, i missed that call.. O_o~! I was in a real deep sleep that time because there were so many calls that day, my mind was switched to off mode.. When my SecCom came back, she came waking me up telling me i must go for firecalls and i can't afford to miss it.. I was like "Wad the hell just happen?".. I didn't know there was a call that time.. If my OC knows about this i would be in a hot soup.. My Bad~! Recently i just took my BCLS test(Basic Cardio Life Support.. Something to do with CPR).. Its a must to pass the test or we won't get our skill allowance.. -_-~! Well, the results are not out yet so i hope i pass..

A week ago i had a bicycle accident.. To me it wasn't major but its not minor either.. I had wounds on my right elbow and feet.. And its open wounds.. Up til now its not healed yet and it got very frustrating for me.. Plus i was on duty 2 days ago and my wounds opened up.. My elbow was wrapped by the paramedics in the station for a little protection but that didn't really help.. My wounds can't really get into contact with water or it will be an open wound.. But i perspire alot since i'm a fire-fighter.. My feet wounds was bad too because i have to wear boots when i'm working.. Unfortunately, the wound is on a part where my boots is always in contact with even when walking.. So there is definitely friction over there.. It was painful and i had to endure the pain with an open wound til i go home the next day.. My SecCom asked me to get Iodine for my wounds.. I went to buy it straight after work and apply it when i was at home.. And F***, the pain was so intense that i wanted to bite myself.. I shouldn't have went for that midnight cycling.. I went with Stewart and Xing Jie.. I was very reluctant to go at first because i didn't want to go home too late.. But Stewart kept pestering and forcing me to go.. I didn't really agree actually but when Xing said we will just cycle around Tampines, i just headed on but i didn't say a word.. We cycled along Tampines and that's where Xing said to Stewart "Let's go to Changi Village".. I thought he was just joking as he was smiling with some bad intention face.. We went pass Loyang area and that's when i had my accident.. Wad happen was I overtook Stewart and then Stewart sped up just to overtake me.. I increased my speed because i didn't want to be left behind.. Stewart then ride along beside Xing, that's when i felt that he slowed down and i was just behind him.. Because he suddenly slowed down beside Xing, i couldn't brake in time as Xing's bicycle brake isn't very responsive.. My front wheel got into contact with his back wheel and a grinding sound occured.. As we all know that bicycle's front wheel is where we control out directions and the back wheel is always going in one way.. And so the grind got me out of control with my direction and i flew off to the right while Stewart is perfectly fine.. The best part was that i was just wearing a T-shirt, knee length bermudas and sandles.. So practically most of my body is in open air.. I felt pain at my right elbow, the place where it also affected my joint area and a part of my feet near my ankle area.. And sadly all these wounds are all open, the types that takes like centuries to heal since its at my joint too(Okay that's too much).. When i got up and getting on my bike to look for a place to wash my wound, i asked "Why are we going the way that is leading to Changi Village?".. And the answer i got from Stewart was "Xing want to go there wad~!".. And the way he replied was with an irresponsible smile as he looked at me.. Wad i'm trying to say here is that, he is giving an "its has nothing to do with me" feeling to everyone.. Although i didn't say it, but i was quite mad inside of me.. But i couldn't be bothered as i have to quickly find a place to wash my wound..

And so a week has passed and from then i didn't contact Stewart for the time being though he tried to ask me out.. My wounds are not fully healed even though i have done what i can do.. Guess it takes alot of time to heal and i'm on duty tml.. Hope i can survive through tml.. I had physicall recall today and had to rush back to station for a rollcall.. And with my wounds hurting me quite badly in every move i make, I had to endure all the way and it wasn't easy.. After that I went to service my phone since my phone was severely damaged during that fall.. And according to the salesman, its going to take about 2 weeks to a month before i can get back my phone as they don't have a spare stock.. I have to agree since its still under warranty.. Luckily i still have spare phones at home to use.. And that's how everything went by.. It sucks to have all these crazy things coming one at a time..

Anyway i changed my blogskin to a World of Warcraft background since i'm quite a hardcore fan of Warcraft.. Alrite i've been typing for 2 hours.. I guess its time for me to go.. Ciaoz~!
